The Port of Cabedelo, in Paraíba, has been officially modernized and now operates with ships of up to 55 thousand tons, after receiving investments of more than R$ 300 million.
The delivery of the works took place at the beginning of May and marks a new phase of logistical and economic development for the state.
With these interventions, the terminal consolidates itself as the first public port in Brazil to operate with solar energy, expanding its operational capacity and adopting sustainable practices.
The measure represents an important step towards sustainability and the modernization of the country's logistics infrastructure.
With the installation of solar panels, the port began to generate a significant portion of its own energy, reducing operating costs and the environmental impact of its activities.
Other improvements include the requalification of warehouses, new administrative headquarters, operational centers, scales and logistics support areas. The total structure now occupies 55 thousand square meters.
“The port structure of Cabedelo is being completely changed by these investments, and the state’s exports will increasingly expand, placing both Cabedelo and Paraíba in the international development hub,” stated Silvio Costa Filho, Minister of Ports and Airports.
The delivery was also attended by federal, state and municipal authorities, such as Hugo Motta, president of the Chamber of Deputies and Cícero Lucena, mayor of the capital of Paraíba
