Aiming at sustainability and cost reduction, agricultural technical schools in the state network of Rio Grande do Sul will benefit from energy generation through solar sources. In total, 35 13,6 kWp systems will be installed in 15 technical schools in the state. According to Francisco dos Santos, director of the technical department at Suepro (Superintendence of Professional Education of the State), the expectation is that the systems will generate approximately 1,4 MWh per month.
The R$30 million investment includes funds derived from a parliamentary amendment by the Rio Grande do Sul federal caucus earmarked for this category of education, brokered by Suepro, for the acquisition of machinery and educational qualifications. “This measure will certainly result in benefits for the management of the educational institution and the school community,” stated Frederico Guedes, CEO of Suepro.
