A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved on Tuesday (11) the sending to the TCU (Federal Court of Accounts) of the preliminary version of the Transmission Auction Notice No. 01/2026, which foresees investments of R$5,8 billion.
The competition is scheduled for March 27, 2026, in São Paulo (SP), and is expected to create 14,2 direct and indirect jobs.
The tender notice increased the number of lots from five to ten compared to the initial proposal, following Public Consultation No. 028/2025, which received 163 contributions.
The plan covers the construction and maintenance of 888 kilometers of transmission lines and 4.800 MVA of transformation capacity, distributed across 11 states: Bahia, Ceará, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, and Sergipe.
Projects with contracts under review
Three areas concentrate the largest investment values, exceeding R$1 billion each, with particular emphasis on projects in the states of São Paulo, Mato Grosso, and Pará.
Part of the lots, however, depends on the expiration of old contracts, signed in auctions from 2021 and 2022, which experienced delays in construction. ANEEL It has already recommended to the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) the termination of some of these contracts.
For these areas to be officially included in the new auction, the declaration of forfeiture must be published by the end of February 2026, which is also the estimated deadline for the final publication of the auction notice.
"The referral to the TCU (Federal Court of Accounts) is another step towards guaranteeing the expansion and reliability of the transmission system, with direct benefits for consumers and for the country's energy security," highlighted the... ANEEL in note.
After the contracts are signed, the winning companies will have between 42 and 60 months to complete the works.
