A ANEEL The Brazilian National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved an average reduction of 14,67% in the tariffs of Roraima Energia, a measure that benefits all 213 consumer units served by the distributor in the state.
The new values came into effect this Tuesday (1st). However, consumers will notice the effects of the reduction according to the reading and billing cycle of each consumer unit.
This means that an invoice that includes days before and after September 1st may show the proportional application of the corresponding rates for each period.
Why did the fares get cheaper?
In January of this year, the ANEEL Roraima Energia carried out its annual readjustment, a process that updates the tariffs charged by the distributor. On that occasion, the values were formalized through Homologation Resolution No. 3.565/2026.
After this calculation, however, new resources became available for reducing energy tariffs. Since these values had not been considered in the adjustment made in January, the ANEEL He recalculated and established new rates for the concessionaire's customers.
Where did the resources come from?
According to ANEELThe funds come from the renegotiation of the UBP (Use of Public Assets), a mechanism related to the amounts paid by companies for the right to exploit certain hydroelectric projects.
Part of these funds were advanced to contribute to the reduction of energy tariffs. Since the adjustment for Roraima Energia had already been completed before this advance, the amounts were not included in the calculation originally performed by the Agency.
