A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) announced this Friday (8) the launch of RADAR – a system that will allow any citizen to monitor in real time interruptions in the supply of electricity throughout Brazil.
The new tool was presented at a meeting with the presidents of the country's main energy distributors, with the presence of the Director-General of ANEEL, Sandoval Feitosa, by director Agnes da Costa and director Daniel Danna.
The technical presentation of the system was led by André Ruelli, Superintendent of Administrative Mediation and Consumer Relations at the Agency, together with the project coordinator, Daniel Ribeiro.
"RADAR represents a paradigm shift. It's a commitment to transparency, clear information, response time, and, above all, to the consumer," Feitosa stated.
Through the ANEEL or from the app ANEEL Consumers will be able to view the number of consumers without electricity by region, with constant updates. The system is expected to be adopted by distributors by January 2026, with CPFL Santa Cruz serving as the initial pilot.
The deadline was set to allow distributors to adapt their systems to automatic, secure transmission with the possibility of checking information.
Among the obligations established by the new platform is the requirement that distributors inform consumers of the estimated service restoration date within 15 minutes of the start of an outage. Failure to comply with this requirement may be subject to inspection by the Agency.
