A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) closed the first half of 2020 with a total of 3.003,41 MW released for commercial operation in plants throughout Brazil.

The number exceeds the initial target for new plants planned for the period, which was 2.936,43 MW.

With this power, according to the agency, it would be possible to supply a city with around 3,6 million inhabitants.

In June alone, 141,47 MW came into operation, almost three times more than scheduled for the month, which was 54,84 MW.

The research also says that the state that presented the greatest expansion in the electrical matrix in the first half of 2020 was Sergipe, with 1.515,64 MW. Piauí comes in second, with 523,35 MW, followed by Rio Grande do Norte, with 276,68 MW.

A ANEEL It also points out that, in 2020, the highlights have been solar and wind power plants, each with 18% of the total added to the system.

Check out, below, the data released regarding the expansion of the Brazilian electricity matrix in June.
