The board meeting of the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) this Tuesday (29) ended without a final vote on a process that would have an impact on the CCEE (Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber) auction.

On the board's agenda was a process regarding rebates to the competitive mechanism provided for in MP (Provisional Measure) 1.300/2025, in the right to discounts on Transmission System Usage Tariffs and Distribution System Usage Contracts (TUST/CUSD) and in the period of extension limit of the respective grants.
A key point that raises doubts among industry players – who will now go into the auction with the same uncertainties.
In her vote, the reporting director of the process, Agnes Aragão, proposed a recommendation to the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) to reassess the grounds and the convenience of ratifying or rectifying its position of suspending the competitive mechanism, with a view to increasing legal certainty for the auction.
In turn, director Fernando Mosna suggested that the ANEEL expressly recommend to the MME and CCEE that the auction be suspended. Due to the divergence of positions, deputy directors Daniel Danna and Ivo Sechi Nazareno followed the rapporteur's vote.
Mosna then requested a review, and the vote was not concluded, with only Director-General Sandoval Feitosa's position pending. The process will only be re-analyzed by the regulatory agency's leadership at the next regular meeting, scheduled for August 5th—that is, after the auction date.
Operated by CCEE, the event aims to resolve a liability of R$1,13 billion in the MCP (Short-Term Market), as provided for in MP 1.300/2025.
