Caixa Econômica Federal and Sebrae entered into an agreement to offer credit to micro and small companies and MEIs (Individual Microentrepreneurs). The measure is part of the actions adopted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The operation will be carried out through Fampe (Guarantee Fund for Micro and Small Companies), from Sebrae. Caixa expects to provide R$7,5 billion in credit.
The president of Caixa, Pedro Guimarães, stated during a videoconference with the participation of the president of Sebrae, Carlos Melles, that the credit will serve one of the segments most affected by the reduction in economic activity. “This operation is extremely important because it offers credit to a portion of the economy that has not had the opportunity for this offer lately,” he said.
Loans will have a grace period of up to 12 months and payment terms can vary from 24 to 36 months. Furthermore, the complementary guarantees granted by Sebrae through Fampe will allow Caixa to adopt rates 40% lower than those currently practiced by the bank.
credit offer
The measure will benefit approximately 42 million people. Micro and small companies and MEI interested in accessing resources must access the Caixa portal to express their interest.
In total, up to R$12,5 will be made available for each MEI, with a grace period of nine months and interest rates of 1,59% per month, with a two-year payment period. Each micro company will be able to request credit of up to R$75 with a grace period of 12 months, with a repayment period of up to 30 months, at rates of 1,39%. And each small business will be able to request up to R$125 in credit, also with a grace period of 12 months and a payment period of up to 36 months at interest of 1,19%.
