Have you ever imagined watching a movie in a cinema set up in a public square that uses solar energy to project the films onto the screen?
This is the proposal of CineSolarzinho, a children's version of CineSolar, a traveling cinema project powered by solar energy that also addresses themes such as sustainability, science, and technology.
The structure utilizes a van equipped with photovoltaic panels on the roof, responsible for generating the energy used in the project's activities.
The vehicle travels the country transporting projection and sound equipment, screens, chairs, stools, and interactive objects used to set up movie screenings in public spaces.
In addition to film screenings, the activities introduce visitors to concepts related to photovoltaic generation, showing how sunlight can be converted into electrical energy.
In 2026, CineSolarzinho had already held six editions. The screenings are always free, open to all ages, and feature accessibility resources.
According to Cynthia Alario, the creator of CineSolar, the children's version aims to bring audiovisual media closer to environmental discussions from childhood.
"CineSolarzinho was created precisely for this purpose: to provide an experience that unites art, education, and the environment, awakening new perspectives on the world," he stated.
The project started in 2013.
CineSolar, which gave rise to the children's version, was launched in 2013 and has already held 3,3 free screenings, showing 314 productions including feature films and short films.
According to the organization, approximately 500,000 people have already participated in the activities in 1,000 cities, spread across 23 states and the Federal District.
The project also accounts for more than 850 audiovisual workshops for students and more than 400 kilometers traveled throughout the country.
CineSolar also develops environmental compensation initiatives in partnership with Ecooar and is part of Solar World Cinema, an international network of traveling cinemas powered by solar energy.
