Colibri ONE announced its official representation of CALB (China Aviation Lithium Battery) in Brazil, a manufacturer that delivered 36,1 GWh of BESS systems in 2024. Given this scenario, Colibri ONE indicated its intention to focus on larger industrial projects and opportunities related to LRCAP.
According to the company, the strategy will prioritize projects in which engineering, execution capacity, technological reliability, and economic competitiveness have greater weight in defining the solutions.
“The partnership between Colibri ONE and CALB therefore stems from a clear complementarity: technology and global scale on one side; engineering, market knowledge and project development capacity in Brazil on the other. Photovoltaics will continue to be an essential part of the renewable energy matrix. But the next stage of this market increasingly involves the ability to store, manage and use energy more intelligently,” the company assessed.
According to Colibri ONE's assessment, the energy storage market is structuring itself along three main lines: residential batteries, C&I (commercial and industrial) systems in enclosures, and containerized solutions for larger projects, such as utility-scale applications and large industrial consumers.
This trend was also observed by the company during Intersolar South America 2026, an edition marked by a greater presence of energy storage solutions. According to the company, inverter and equipment manufacturers gave more space to C&I systems, a segment identified as one of the main areas of market expansion.
Among the applications identified by the company are retail operations in regions with higher energy tariffs, isolated systems in agribusiness, and energy-intensive consumers such as meat processing plants and industries.
However, despite the advancement of these solutions, Colibri ONE observes that the Brazilian storage market is still undergoing a process of commercial maturation, mainly in relation to the performance of specialized integrators and the structuring of sales.
"It's a market that is still building its commercial dynamics. The base of specialized integrators needs to gain scale and maturity, and, at this initial stage, many manufacturers are still directly involved in connecting with the end customer, structuring sales in conjunction with distributors and partners," the company noted.
CALB originated from China's state-owned aviation group and is currently a publicly traded company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The manufacturer of batteries and storage systems is a Tier 1 company on the BloombergNEF ranking.
Outside of the Chinese market, the company said it is moving forward with international expansion projects. In Sines, Portugal, an industrial unit with a capacity of up to 45 GWh per year is planned.
