Enel Brasil's distributors released their financial results for the first quarter of 2025. During the period, more than R$1,17 billion was invested in the concession areas of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Ceará.

Enel São Paulo led the investments, with R$484,5 million — the largest amount ever invested by the distributor in the first quarter since the start of operations, according to the company.

In Ceará, Enel recorded Capex of R$375,5 million, while in Rio de Janeiro investments totaled R$314,1 million.

According to Enel Brasil, the contributions focused mainly on:

  • Modernization and maintenance of electrical networks, with automation and replacement of obsolete equipment.

  • Expansion and new connections, expanding access to energy in strategic regions.

  • Initiatives to reduce technical losses, with emphasis on the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Improvement in DEC

In the three states, the company recorded a reduction in the DEC indicator (Equivalent Duration of Interruption per Consumer Unit), highlighting the positive effects of investments in automation of the electrical grid:

  • São Paulo: 8% reduction in DEC in the last 12 months.

  • Rio de Janeiro: 11,2% drop in DEC.

  • Ceará: 11,1% reduction in DEC, below the regulatory limit.

“The improvement in operational performance is the result of preventive actions, intensive use of technology for remote diagnosis and rapid response to extreme weather events, with emphasis on integration with the Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE) in São Paulo,” highlighted the company.

Enel also reported an increase of over 1.500 employees in its workforce over the last 12 months.

Investment Plan 2025-2027

Maintaining its growth strategy, Enel Brasil plans to invest R$10,4 billion in São Paulo between 2025 and 2027 — an increase of 68% compared to the previous cycle.

In Rio de Janeiro, the distributor received a capital injection of R$2,5 billion, reducing the leverage level to the lowest level in the last 10 years.

It would be interesting to know the company's profit in the same period. How about that?
