O use of solar energy for irrigation process of grains has revolutionized the agricultural production in Brazil. Fazenda da Madrugada, located in the municipality of Jaborandi, in Bahia, doubled soybean production with the installation of three photovoltaic plants.

With investments of BRL 3,4 million, the property installed two irrigation pivots e an artesian well for water tank supply, increasing on-site productivity on one more harvest per year.

The project was carried out by the company CGR Energia, with equipment by the distributor WIN Solar, including 540 W JA Solar panels. This is one of the largest off-grid projects for an irrigation pivot drive system in Brazil, totaling 769 kWp.

According to Camila Nascimento, commercial director at WIN Solar, there is a perfect synergy between photovoltaic technology and Brazilian agribusiness, which results in cheaper food for citizens.

“It is worth remembering that one of the success factors of Brazilian agribusiness is the high competitiveness of national products compared to other global players”, he highlighted.

“As one of the main inputs for rural productive activity is electrical energy, the use of solar energy on farms is currently one of the great solutions to further increase the quality and sustainability of agricultural and livestock management in Brazil”, highlighted the executive.

For Fernando Castro, Country Manager at JA Solar Brasil, the project is the result of a partnership between the brands and highlights the commitment to quality, high efficiency and trust.

“JA Solar has always been committed to providing excellent products, a stance that has gained market recognition and customer trust. We are prepared to serve the Brazilian market in different distributed and centralized generation projects.”

The installation of the three systems at Fazenda da Madrugada, which lasted just three months and has just been inaugurated, features bifacial modules and an off-grid pumping inverter. Such technologies allow the production of solar energy by capturing direct radiation and radiation reflected by the ground.

Even though none of the three plants is connected to the utility's electrical grid, the photovoltaic plant guarantees the use of the pumps for up to ten hours a day, with only the sun's rays.

Just want it, really CLEAN energy, much cheaper and without harming river basins, urban and indigenous populations, as PCHs and CPHs do! Congratulations!

BE CAREFUL.. YOU NEED TO SELF-SUPPLY THESE WATER WITH RAIN, NOT WITH DRINKING WATER.. ONE DAY IT WILL FINISH..
