The EV (electric vehicle) market has gained a new product. It is the FIAT 500e, the automaker's first 100% electrified model. Tests carried out by the company at the Betim Automotive Hub (MG) indicated that the car can reach a range of 460 km under ideal conditions.

The electric motor delivers 87 kW, which is equivalent to 118 horsepower, and torque reaches 220 Nm – which means it needs 9 seconds to reach 100 km/h, and a recovery from 60 km/h to 100 km/h in 4,8 seconds. The 500e will be sold in Brazil in ten dealerships in nine different cities: Porto Alegre (RS), Curitiba (PR), Florianópolis (SC), Campinas (SP), São Paulo (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasília (DF) and Recife (PE).

WEG will be the supplier of the electric stations

WEG announced the signing of an approval agreement to become the official supplier of charging stations for FIAT's new 500e electric vehicle. The contract includes the inclusion of two models from the new generation WEMOB – WEG Electric Mobility in the automaker's product catalog, as well as the installation service for the equipment and technical visits to customers.

According to the company, the charging stations will be offered to FIAT consumers in two different models: WALL, designed for homes and condominiums, and PARKING, developed for shared use in public and private parking lots.

WEG stated that both work in any voltage in Brazilian cities and have all the protections required by national and international standards. With protection against UV rays and resistant to water jets and dust, the equipment can be installed both indoors and outdoors.

“We are taking another important step in our strategy to offer efficient, sustainable and intelligent solutions for the electric mobility segment. We also want to provide the FIAT customer with the best experience for fast and safe recharging”, highlighted Manfred Peter Johann, managing director of WEG Automação.

About charging stations

The WEMOB Wall model in 220V (single-phase and two-phase) with up to 7,4kW of power, provides an 80% recharge of the batteries in approximately 4 hours. The WEMOB Parking model in 380V and 220V (three-phase) with up to 11kW, provides an 80% recharge in approximately 2h40 minutes.
