Genial Solar, the distributed generation arm of Genial Investimentos, has just opened two solar plants in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Together, the units have a combined installed capacity of 13,1 MWp and the capacity to generate 22,3 GWh per year.
UFV Casimiro, located in the municipality of Casimiro de Abreu, is the company's first plant in the Enel RJ concession area. With 6,6 MWp of power, the plant has an annual generation capacity of 12,5 GWh and has a solar tracking system (tracker), which follows the movement of the sun and increases energy efficiency.
UFV Ipiabas, located in Barra do Piraí, has 6,5 MWp and an annual capacity of 9,8 GWh.

With these new ventures, Genial Solar now serves consumers from the state's two main distributors: Light and Enel RJ.
The company is currently present in 13 municipalities in Rio de Janeiro and, with the new plants, has 14 solar parks in operation. The expectation is to end the year with 24 plants connected, totaling 104,5 MWp of installed capacity and annual generation of 154 GWh.
