O Public Power is increasingly investing in clean and sustainable technologies. This time, the TRF5 (Federal Regional Court of the 5th Region) announced that R$220 will be invested in an energy efficiency project that will install a solar plant at its headquarters, located in Recife (PE).
The installation of the plant will be carried out by Celpe (Pernambuco Energy Company) and is part of the PEE (Energy Efficiency Program), regulated by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency.)
According to the concessionaire, once installed, the equipment will provide savings of 104 MWh/year to the court, which means a reduction of R$35 in the institution's annual electricity cost,
In total, 134 photovoltaic panels, 445 W, will be placed on the roof of the TRF5 annex building, in an area of 290 m². The works are scheduled to begin on May 31st this year and will last 30 days.
“This is a project that fills us with pride and is very important for Celpe, as it speaks directly to our vision of sustainability. It is also a milestone, as it is the first public building of a Justice body in Pernambuco that we are installing a photovoltaic generation plant, as part of our energy efficiency program”, said Saulo Cabral, president of Celpe.
For Joana Carolina Lins Pereira, federal judge assistant to the Presidency of TRF5, in addition to the economic issue, the project is an example of social and environmental responsibility. “We have always been concerned about these issues and the generation of clean energy could not remain outside our radar”.
Also according to Celpe, the company will invest R$ 11,4 million in energy efficiency projects that pass the public call carried out by the concessionaire and the results will be announced next month.
