Pernambuco gains PV plants to serve the education network and public buildings
Enove Energia solar power plant, with Renovigi equipment, in Cachoeirinha (PE)

The municipality of Toritama (PE) will two new 1,3 MWp solar plants that go serve the city's education network and public buildings. The work, carried out by Enove Energy, has already started and is in the earthmoving phase.

The prediction is that the power plants stay ready in the second semester. In total, they will be used 2.343 555 W photovoltaic modules and eight 125 kW inverters from Renew.

According to the director of Enove Energia, João Carlos Mendonça, the technology to be installed will generate a savings of up to 82% in electricity for the municipality with payback (return on investment) to 60 months, in addition to reducing emissions of CO2 equivalent to planting 295 thousand trees.

In addition to the solar plants that will be implemented in Toritama, Enove Energia has already carried out other large projects with Renovigi in the Northeast. In 2022, it built a 964 kWp plant for the city hall of Cachoeirinha (PE) and another for the municipality of Panelas (PE), with 454 kWp.

According to a Guilherme Costa, executive manager of Renew, the adoption of the solar energy by public institutions tbrings countless social, economic and environmental gains.

“By investing in solar energy, municipal governments collaborate to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, taking an active stance in the face of the global climate crisis and, by reducing expenses with electricity, they can invest in other fronts that will benefit the society, such as health and education”, he pondered.

According to data from ANEEL (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association), the solar energy already has 29,8 GW of installed power (70,5% in distributed generation). Specifically in Pernambuco, there are 605,2 MW in distributed generation and 414,8 MW in centralized generation in operation.
