Photovoltaic solar tiles are available on the Brazilian market

Hantile tiles are made from transparent acrylic with great mechanical resistance and have practically their entire area covered.

Since they were announced in mid-2016 by Tesla billionaire Elon Musk, photovoltaic solar tiles have become an object of desire for professionals and consumers in the solar energy market around the world. However, the prototypes presented at the time never became a reality in Brazil, frustrating the local market.

Upon seeing this gap in the Brazilian market, solar energy equipment distributor L8 Energy decided to innovate and bring the solution to Brazil. After being approached by the Chinese company Hanergy, which presented a solution with thin film technology, similar to that used in Tesla's roof tiles, the company decided to go for it once and for all.

“We were approached by the manufacturer of solar tiles with thin film technology and, after they presented their product to us, we concluded that there was no similar product on the Brazilian market. So, we made the decision to be the pioneers of this technology in the country”, reported Guilherme Nagamine, executive director of L8 Energy ao Canal Solar.

“Hantile tiles are made of transparent acrylic with great mechanical resistance and have practically their entire area covered by photovoltaic material, which makes them very different and superior to other photovoltaic tiles that have recently been announced on the Brazilian market,” added Nagamine. In Brazil, Hantile is distributed exclusively by L8 Energy, a company of the L8 Group.

For the production of Hantile tiles, the following is used: thin film technology, which differs from the products that are being introduced in the Brazilian market. According to the distributor, the tile has a power of 30W per unit and can be installed on the existing roof structure. The advantage of the L8 Solar Tile lies in the fact that the entire area of a roof can be covered with photovoltaic material, that is, every square centimeter of a roof can be a photovoltaic generator.

Thin film technology also has other advantages: it is immune to shadows, is not very sensitive to increased temperature on the roof surface (compared to traditional crystalline technology) and also allows better capture of diffused light (a natural characteristic of thin films). ), which improves light absorption in cloudy or low-light locations.

The L8 Solar Tile is very different from other photovoltaic tiles that have recently been announced on the Brazilian market. In addition to using thin film technology, the product is safe and compatible with international products. The connectors and cables used in the electrical terminals of the tiles are special for application in photovoltaic systems, being very safe and durable.

According to Nagamine, distribution in Brazil began in October 2019 and has already brought good results. “We sell design and sustainability, which are concepts that are popular in the market today. The thin film solar tile is an easy-to-apply product, different from the traditional photovoltaic module.

    Good Morning!
Are photovoltaic tiles already available in all markets in Brazil?
What would be a budget for a 100 m2 deck?
