Aiming for economy and sustainability, a residential condominium located in Caxias do Sul (RS) is investing in solutions for BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics – Photovoltaic Integration in Civil Construction).
According to Construesse Construtora e Incorporadora, responsible for the Bosco Esposizione project, it will have architectural solar panels on the north front facade and on the roof.
In total, the system 44 kWp, is made up of 341 modules of Kromatix and a SolarEdge SE33.3K inverter. Furthermore, the plant will have a gannual generation of 32,47 MWh and a PR (Performance Ratio) of 70%.
Together, the equipment will supply the energy supply in the condominium area, no longer emitting around 15 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to the annual planting of 700 trees.
According to the company, the project will also have rainwater reuse system for irrigation of gardens and toilets in the condominium area and units, with an estimated saving of up to 50% on the water bill in the leisure area and up to 20% on the water bill in the apartments.
The building is in certification process by the Green Building Council Brazil, with the GBC Brasil Condomínio seal. The GBC is an internationally recognized certifying institution that evaluates guidelines such as the choice of land and the development of the project until the final design of the work.
Importance of BIPV
Ana Lúcia Sebben, director of Construesse, highlighted the importance of using BIPV technology to, in addition to having aesthetic filling, provide a reduction in residents' electricity bills.
“With the innovation of BIPV, instead of using granite or marble, for example, we use a material that is bringing an economic benefit to those who are living there”, he emphasized.
'BIPV is the fastest growing market in the world', says expert
“The entire condominium part, consisting of a party room, gym, swimming pool, toy library, etc., will be supplied through photovoltaic on the roof and facade”, highlighted Ana Lúcia.
Therefore, according to her, the building will practically not have energy bills in the condominium area. “We are talking about a building that only has 19 apartments.”
“It’s a very exclusive development, where we would have a very high condominium cost if we didn’t have all this technology used to reduce electricity costs”He concluded.
