The state of Amazonas won an incentive that will make its energy matrix more renewable. This is because the government sanctioned Law No. 5.350 of December 22, 2020, which will increase the implementation of new types of electrical generation.
“This is a true milestone for Amazonas, because we can count on public policies that encourage investments in the state with the possibility of new matrices of sustainable sources”, highlighted secretary Jório Veiga, from Sedecti (State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and inovation).
“In addition to allowing the use of renewable sources to be stimulated, the new law, which came into force on December 22nd of last year, also establishes guidelines for increments that will help provide tax incentives for the development of the interior and more extensive regions. isolated,” added Veiga.
According to the secretary, the state law also encompasses technological development, for self-consumption, in private and public, residential, community, commercial and industrial enterprises, in addition to creating employment and income alternatives and improving efficiency and energy use, with cost reduction.
Energy Development Fund
According to Pasta, the project also foresees the creation of an energy development fund through sustainable bases, with the aim of promoting the use of equipment for inclusive production purposes and supporting education, health and public safety systems.
“The creation of this Fund will be very important because it will encourage the implementation of photovoltaic energy in isolated communities in municipalities. This will stimulate family farming production, for example, enabling a boost to the economy in the interior”, reinforced Marco Villela, executive secretary of Mining, Energy, Oil and Gas at Sedecti.
Solar Energy in the Amazon
Data from ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy) point out that Amazonas is the 24th state in the ranking of distributed photovoltaic solar generation with 21,9 MW of power – which represents 0,5% of the total in Brazil.
