A TSUNESS announced that the models of MS400 microinverters e MS800 passed the test of EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), in accordance with EN 62920:2017.

The test was carried out in laboratory VDE (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker – Association of Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies), located in Germany.

“Traditionally, products undergo extensive testing to ensure they are safe, perform well, and do not affect other devices or create unauthorized disruptions to the network system during operation. Our microinverters not only met but exceeded these stringent requirements,” highlighted the company.

According to the company, this certification consists of not only testing the products, but also certifying the factory during an initial visit, followed by annual controls of the manufacturing processes at the production site.

“After passing the initial assessment, TSUNESS will be one of the first microinverter producers in the world to obtain EMC certification, in accordance with the EN 62920 standard, and will be authorized to use the VDE EMC brand on these products”, they pointed out.

Ansgar Hinz, Executive Director of VDE, highlighted the characteristics of the MS400 and MS800 microinverters, also used in photovoltaic systems for balconies. “Balcony power plants are very popular among consumers, as they can actively participate in the energy transition by using them.”

“We, as VDE, want to support this fact. For this reason, it is important to us that new devices are safe for the user. Who, if not us, can guarantee this? VDE has defended safety and security in electrical engineering for over 130 years,” concluded Hinz.

EMC Test

EMC testing includes three critical assessments:

  • Assessment of the overall radiation function of the product;
  • AC side driving test;
  • CC side driving test.

According to the company, the introduction of the DC-side driving test in the 62920 standard sets a higher benchmark for product performance and reliability.

“By successfully completing this test, we have become the first brand worldwide to comply with this new standard, positioning ourselves at the forefront of EMC compliance. The 62920 standard is expected to be fully adopted across the industry by 2024, which makes TSUNESS' achievement even more significant,” they emphasized.

Why is EMC testing so important?

Electromagnetic compatibility is crucial for electronic devices and systems to function smoothly and reliably. In the world of solar energy, EMC compliance is vital to keeping the electrical grid safe and stable.

Features of the MS400 and MS800 models

The MS400 It is usually installed on the roof, under the panels. The microinverter weighs 1,98 kg and has a 14 A DC input and 400 W AC output, as well as Plug and Play installation and maximum efficiency of up to 96,7%.

Already the model MS800, also generally installed on the roof, under the panels, weighs 3 kg and has a 14 A DC input and 800 W AC output, as well as Plug and Play installation and maximum efficiency of up to 96,7%.
