ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards) reported that, after a joint meeting between ABNT, its Brazilian Fire Safety Committee (ABNT/CB-024) and the ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy), it was decided, by consensus, to reopen the technical work for the partial update of NBR 17193:2025.

This work will be conducted by a Working Group, which will be formed at the first regular meeting of CE-024:102.007, scheduled for March 18, from 15:17 p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. “The objective is to discuss specific points of the standard, seeking convergence and consensus, with a focus on the continuous improvement of the best practices established for the market and society,” said ABNT, in a note.

The Working Group will prepare proposals for Amendments to NBR 17193, which will be presented to the Study Committee for deliberation as soon as possible. According to ABNT, until all procedures for a possible amendment are completed, the standard will remain in force with the text that was published on February 4.

NBR 17193 would have been published without consensus from the standard committee
