ABS (Bahia Association of Solar Energy) will hold, next Wednesday (4), at 14 pm, an event to launch the ABS 2026 Census – an initiative that aims to map and draw an updated overview of the photovoltaic sector in the state. The meeting will take place in the auditorium of the Salvador Trade Center, located on Avenida Tancredo Neves.

The ABS 2026 Census will gather strategic data on job creation, investment volume, company profiles, challenges, and opportunities in the solar energy market in Bahia.

The form will be open for completion from March 6th to April 3rd and can be answered by any company/legal entity operating in the photovoltaic sector, whether or not they are associated with ABS.

The proposal aims to strengthen the sector through consolidated information that supports business decisions and public policies. Direct benefits for the market include:

  • Strengthening the institutional framework of the sector by providing a basis for defending its interests in the creation of rules and public policies;
  • Improving interactions within the solar ecosystem;
  • Generating market intelligence, with essential data for entrepreneurs and integrators to plan the future of their businesses.

In addition to the launch of the Census, the event will feature a lecture by tax lawyer Thiago Bao, who will address the impacts of the Tax Reform on businesses in the photovoltaic sector. The expectation is to clarify doubts and guide entrepreneurs, integrators, and investors about the changes and their effects on the solar energy production chain.

According to the president of ABS, Marcos Rêgo, the Census will be a milestone for the sector in Brazil; discussing the impacts of the Tax Reform is essential so that companies are prepared and can maintain their competitiveness.

“The ABS 2026 Census will be a pioneering project and a fundamental tool for us to accurately understand the size, strength, and demands of the photovoltaic sector in Bahia (…) We need solid data to expand our representation and strengthen the dialogue with public authorities and investors,” he said.

Registration for the event is free, but places are limited and must be done through the Sympla platform. The launch of the ABS 2026 Census is supported by CRT-BA, SEBRAE-BA, Movimento Solar Livre, Amara NZero, Belenergy, Fortlev Solar, Handy Solar and Sou Energy.
