Alsol Energias Renováveis announced that it will build 15 photovoltaic plants in 2021, 14 in Minas Gerais and one in Rio de Janeiro. In total, R$173 million will be invested. The plants, combined, will have a generation capacity of 46 MWp. With this growth, also considering seven other plants that are in operation, the company will have 73 MWp installed by the end of this year.
According to Gustavo Buiatti, CTO and founder of Alsol, the energy quotas from these new structures will be sold to small and medium-sized companies and residential customers. Furthermore, the executive stated that with the 14 new solar farms in Minas Gerais, Alsol will be the first DG (distributed generation) company present in practically the entire state in the solar quota leasing modality, since the plants will be built in the areas of the three large energy distributors that serve the region: Cemig, Energisa Minas Gerais and Energisa Sul-Sudeste.
“We continue with this commitment to invest in distributed generation, close to load centers. However, we have insertion plans not only for photovoltaics, but also for other sources, such as biogas and storage applications, for example,” said Buiatti.
“In other words, we intend to continue growing more and more. We will end the year with 73 MWp and we will continue to increase our area of operation and serve as many customers as possible in the best way possible”, he concluded.
Currently, the company has 27 MWp in operation and serves 751 business customers, resulting in 1.071 consumer units.

The MoovAlsol electric mobility project, an R&D (research and development) initiative of the Energisa Group, executed by Alsol, will reach a new stage this year. A mobile electric station is expected to start operating in Uberlândia (MG) in April. It is a truck equipped with a battery capable of storing 200 kWh of energy that will circulate between the points in the city where there is the greatest demand for EVs (electric vehicles).
