Electro Graphics, a software developer for electrical engineering, photovoltaic, and industrial automation projects, has launched the Ampère 2025 Line to meet the growing demands of the electricity sector, with a focus on connecting renewable sources to the grid.

According to the company, with a focus on improving calculation accuracy and project efficiency, the update seeks to fill important market gaps, such as detailed study of voltage, reactive power, and integration with photovoltaic, wind, and hybrid systems.

What's new in the 2025 version?

Ao Canal Solar, the company reported that the new 2025 line brings significant advances in performance, interface, and functionality. "Now, the software better utilizes the processing power of computers, ensuring faster calculations in LV (Low Voltage), MV (Medium Voltage), and DC (Direct Current)," the company reported.

Key features included include:

  • Selectivity: New functions for even more precise control;
  • Mechanical delay management for MV circuit breakers;
    Cutting Section: Specific tools for expansion projects – This function defines the connection of a new project from an existing panel in the installation, rather than directly to a power source (generator) or the distribution grid. This function allows you to enter values for protection currents and voltage drops in the existing panel, thus calculating the new project based on actual system conditions.
  • Management and analysis of current and voltage transformers in LV;
  • Automatic verification of the consistency of the cables assigned to the installation;
  • Arc Flash: New reports for arc flash analysis;
  • Electrical Panels: Advanced features for editing and management;
  • EGlink Update: Revit 2025 Compatibility;
  • Ampère Evolution: Management of P/Q and V/Q capability curves

Professional vs. Evolution: What Changes?

The Ampère Evolution version differs from the Professional version with its expanded focus on distributed generation and renewable energy systems. It offers:

  • Advanced calculation for P/Q and V/Q capability curves;
  • Wind Generator Management;
  • Management of capacitor banks and shunt reactors to compensate for the reactive power of generators;
  • Guided sizing of the photovoltaic generator (similar function to the SOLergo software).

P/Q and V/Q curves: precision for renewable energy

The company highlighted that inserting P/Q curves directly from manufacturers allows for a much more accurate analysis of the reactive power that a system can supply to the grid.

For the company, this facilitates important technical decisions, such as the need for capacitors or reactors, and helps ensure the project complies with distributor standards.

"These simulations allow engineers to understand how the power grid will behave when faced with fluctuations inherent in renewable energy generation. Unlike thermal or hydroelectric plants, which have more stable and controllable energy production, wind and solar power generation is intermittent and dependent on environmental factors, which causes fluctuations in grid voltage, which can be harmful if left unmanaged," the company stated.

In the company's assessment, this allows for the correct sizing of inverters, transformers, batteries, and other components, ensuring more robust and reliable systems.

According to the company, the appropriate sizing of equipment such as inverters, transformers and reactive power compensation devices is facilitated by analyzing voltage variations.

"In addition to allowing us to determine the ideal size for energy storage systems, such as batteries, batteries can absorb excess energy generated during peak production periods and release it when generation drops, helping to minimize voltage fluctuations and maintain grid stability," the entity added.

Integration of power plants with the electrical grid

The Ampère Line is an ally in planning the connection of small and medium-sized power plants to the electrical grid. The software allows you to:

  • Technical sizing of cables, circuit breakers and transformers;-
  • Short circuit and voltage drop studies;
  • Assessment of the impact of the plant on the existing network;
  • Definition of compatible protection devices.

A company states that these tools help reduce costs, avoid failures and improve the energy efficiency of the project.

Faster approval at distributors

With specific features to generate documents required by concessionaires and regulatory bodies, the software also facilitates the approval of generating plant and power plant projects. minigenerationIt generates reports on relay settings, protection tripping curves, short-circuit calculations, and other essential technical reports, all in a standardized and customized format.

Complete software

In addition to its focus on renewable energy, the Ampère Line also offers extensive capabilities for:

  • Arc Flash and short circuit calculations; Selectivity; Sizing of protections, cables and capacitor banks; Thermal analysis, harmonics and saturation of transformers;
  • Generation of electrical diagrams and panel layouts; Import and export to Revit and issuance of complete technical reports.
