A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) extended for day May 7 deadline for interested parties send contributions for Public Consultation No. 08/2024. The Public Consultation seeks increase consumer influence in electricity tariff calculations.

In its proposal, the Agency suggests creating the “User Satisfaction” component for calculating the electricity bill.

With that, a unsatisfactory performance of the respective distributor, determined by the ANEEL next to consumers through national research and other indicators, could lead to reduction in fare value, and consequently a smaller transfer to the distributor.

A proposition is that this component integrates the fare calculation mechanism which passes on to the consumer the productivity gains obtained by the distributor and the results of the application of incentive mechanisms.

As published by Canal Solar, the justification of the ANEEL for this topic to be discussed is that the Agency found that today in the country there is low consumer satisfaction in relation to the services of distributors and that the situation has worsened in recent years.
