A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved, this Tuesday (21), the opening of a public consultation until March 10 to regulate the auction of isolated systems, scheduled to take place on May 30.
In total, 49 MW will be auctioned in 11 locations in the Amazon and Para, with contracts divided into three lots. Each of them will last 15 years, starting on December 20, 2027.
One of the innovations of the event will be the possibility of including systems of energy storage, which may include both fossil and renewable sources.
However, there is a requirement that 22% of the energy proposed in the offers must necessarily come from clean sources.
The objective of this auction is to reduce the use of diesel in electricity generation in these hard-to-reach communities, which are not yet integrated into the without (National Interconnected System).
The measure also seeks to contribute to the decarbonization of the Amazon and to the reduction of the CCC (Fuel Consumption Bill) – a charge paid by all electricity distributors and transmitters to subsidize the annual generation costs of isolated systems.
According to ANEEL, there will also be a penalty for non-compliance with power delivery, which will be replaced by an obligation to invest in improving services.
The public consultation includes the participation of CCEE (Electric Energy Trading Chamber), which will act as an intermediary responsible for monitoring and calculating contractual revenues and penalties.
O leilão of isolated systems had its guidelines announced in November by the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy). In all, the ANEEL estimates that more than 169 thousand people could benefit from its implementation.
