Between May 5th and 7th, 2026, the city of Itaguaí (RJ) will host the Logistics and Regulation Seminar, an initiative led by ABDAN (Brazilian Association for the Development of Nuclear Activities), which brings together experts, authorities and industry representatives to discuss the challenges and advances of the nuclear regulatory framework in Brazil.

The meeting includes the participation of ANSN (National Nuclear Safety Authority), which acted as a mentor in the construction of the technical program, as well as NUCLEP (Nuclebrás Equipamentos Pesados), responsible for hosting the event and providing the infrastructure for the activities, and CREA-RJ, as an institutional supporter.

The seminar aims to deepen discussions on safety, quality control, transportation of nuclear materials, regulatory predictability, and logistical and supply chain efficiency—essential pillars for the sustainable development of nuclear energy in the country.

The program includes three days of intensive technical content, aimed at professionals and agents in the sector, as well as a technical visit to NUCLEP's facilities. The event also provides certification for participants and networking opportunities with strategic players in the nuclear supply chain.

Among the participants will be institutional and strategic representatives from the sector, including experts from the Brazilian Navy and INB (Brazilian Nuclear Industries), who will contribute insights on logistics, infrastructure, and operations within the Brazilian nuclear context.

According to ABDAN's president, Celso Cunha, the moment is opportune to broaden the technical and institutional dialogue: “We are experiencing an important phase of regulatory modernization in Brazil. Discussing logistics and regulation in an integrated way is essential to guarantee safety, competitiveness, and technological advancement in the nuclear sector,” he said.

With limited spaces available, the seminar is aimed at professionals seeking in-depth technical knowledge and specialized training in the nuclear sector.
