Astronergy plans production capacity of 100 GW by 2025

A Astronergy, is one of the pioneers in manufacturing of photovoltaic cells and modules. The Chinese company plans to increase its module production capacity to 100 GW by 2025.

“Our capacity at the end of last year was 55 GW for the modules. We have a total of 10 plants available worldwide, including 9 factories in China and another outside China, which is in Thailand. “, commented Haiyan Huang, executive vice president and director of sustainability.

Astronergy is seeking to take part of its capacity to countries such as the United States, Australia, Canada and European countries. “Turkey’s capacity is in progress and will be ready by the end of the third quarter of this year, with 1 GW for the modules and other 2 GW for cells starting very soon,” said Huang.

By the end of this year, the company plans to increase its production capacity by 76 GW in modules. And by the end of 2025 to 103 GW.

Na Intersolar Europe 2024, held in Munich, Germany, the Astronergy presented its latest TOPCon 4.0 cell technology, with an efficiency of 27,06%. 

O module TOPCon ASTRO N7s designed to meet the demands of the French market, despite being suitable for other European markets, according to Haiyan Huang. The module is 500 W, and it is possible to install six pieces with a total maximum output of 3 kW.

The company also presented the new module 7W ASTRO N460s, designed for balconies. With a power of 460 W, efficiency of 23,02%, it occupies just two square meters, ideal for domestic use. 

The ASTRO N7s incorporates TOPCon 4.0 cell technology and innovates using high-transparency double-layer glass, non-destructive cutting technology, ZBB-TF technology that eliminates BusBars and PAD points on the front of the module. Resulting in an aesthetic with a completely black finish.

Due to TF technology, these modules achieve power outputs exceeding 460 W and efficiencies exceeding 23%.
