A Atlas Renewable Energy, Hydro REIN and Albras announced o begining da Operação do complex solar Good Variety, located em Paracatu (MG). O park has 438 MW de capacity installed e will generate a total de 920 GWh by year.

The venture, made up of several projects, will supply clean energy to Albras, the largest primary aluminum producer in Brazil, representing around 12% of the company's total energy demand, under a 20-year contract, from 2025 to 2044. .

“Boa Sorte is emblematic because it was our first PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) for clean energy generation for Albras, which repeated the partnership in Vista Alegre, still under construction. With this project, we broke important barriers in the sector, such as the first loan indexed in dollars by BNDES for renewable projects”, explained Fábio Bortoluzo, director of Atlas in Brazil.

Installed in an area equivalent to 1.152 Maracanã stadiums, the construction of the Boa Sorte complex required 16.584 tons of metallic structures. To optimize park management, technologies were adopted that allowed real-time integrated management and data-based decision making by the production team.

“This is an important milestone for Hydro REIN projects in Brazil, considered a strategic market for the company. It is another step towards achieving our mission of developing renewable solutions for the industry”, said Marcela Jacob, head of Hydro Rein in Brazil.

“This year, we also began commercial operations at the Mendubim solar complex and, by the end of 2024, we will begin operating the Vento de São Zacarias wind complex. Brazil is one of the most exciting markets for renewable energy in the world and we are attentive to growth opportunities in the sector”, he highlighted.

According to João Batista Menezes, CEO of Albras, with investments in renewable energy sources, the company consolidates its long-term energy supply strategy, as well as diversifying its energy matrix.

In addition to Boa Sorte, the company signed a contract with Atlas Renewable Energy to supply solar energy, through the Vista Alegre photovoltaic complex, the largest PPA ever signed in Latin America. Vista Alegre will guarantee Albras a sustainable energy supply for 21 years.
