Auren Energia ended 2024 with net revenue of R$11,2 billion, a growth of 17,7% compared to the previous year. The results were released by the company this Tuesday (25), being the first announcement after the business combination with AES Brasil.
According to Auren, in the fourth quarter of 2024, net revenue grew 35% compared to the same quarter in the previous year and reached R$3,5 billion. In the company's assessment, the fourth quarter was marked by the accelerated start of the operational integration of AES Brazil.
The balance sheet released by the company also indicates that Adjusted EBITDA was R$3,3 billion in 2024. In the assessment of Fabio Zanfelice, president of Auren, the year 2024 was transformational in the history of Auren.
“We have become the third largest power generator in the country and have consolidated our leadership in sales. We are at a new level of results, going from R$1,7 billion to R$3,3 billion in Adjusted EBITDA. Since the announcement of the acquisition of AES Brasil’s businesses, we have been building a robust plan to integrate the companies and, in the first 100 days of work, all established goals were exceeded, with the capture of relevant synergies on several fronts”, he highlighted.
“Other very strategic moves in 2024 were the creation of GUD Energia, in partnership with Vivo, and the acquisition of Esfera Energia, two fundamental initiatives to expand our reach, enhance the offering of new products and accelerate our journey to improve the experience of our customers in the free market”, added Zanfelice.
Auren ended the year as the leader in the Brazilian trading market, with an average of 6,2 GW of energy traded and operations in the regulated and free markets in the corporate, wholesale and retail segments.
The company expanded its client portfolio to more than 3,4 companies from a wide range of sectors and sizes, expanding its commercial strategy with the acquisition of Esfera, completed in August 2024, to boost its experience with its customers through operations in the energy management segment for large companies. To increase its penetration in the retail sector, Auren completed the creation of GUD Energia in partnership with Vivo.
Auren starts the year with an additional 1,5 GW of capacity
According to Auren, the company started 2025 with an additional 1,5 GW of capacity, driven by the completion of the process of entering into commercial operation of the Cajuína 1 and 2, Tucano wind projects and the Sol de Jaíba photovoltaic solar project.
On the organic growth front, the company approved the construction of the Cajuína 3 wind project in Rio Grande do Norte. The project will have a capacity of 112 MW with a physical guarantee of 70 MW on average and is an expansion of the Cajuína 1 and 2 cluster.
Following the expansion, the Cajuína complex will become a 796 MW wind project. Cajuína 3 is expected to enter the commercialization portfolio for businesses in the self-production format.
“Over the years, Auren has worked to build a business that combines the ability to grow while generating value for shareholders and ensuring the robustness and resilience needed for times of high volatility,” says Mateus Ferreira, vice president of finance and investor relations at Auren Energia.
“With the steps we took in 2024, we now have a balanced portfolio, with new projects that are starting to generate cash and significant synergies that will help reduce our leverage, making Auren even stronger and more competitive,” concluded Ferreira.
