BNEF (BloombergNEF) announced on Tuesday (25) that it was selected by the global financial services group BBVA to help it strengthen its position in the clean energy and energy transition sectors.

The partnership allows BBVA to access BNEF’s research and analysis data, providing its professionals with the resources they need to help their clients navigate the evolving energy landscape.

Drawing on its industry expertise and global presence, BNEF’s analyst team will share insights with BBVA on technologies, business models, financing and market opportunities related to moving towards a more sustainable economy. This will help the group expand its sustainability capabilities and generate opportunities for clients.

When choosing the BloombergNEF As a cleantech data provider, BBVA enhances customer service by offering adaptive solutions, detailed industry analysis and trend forecasts.

According to Javier Rodríguez Soler, Global Head of Sustainability and Corporate and Investment Banking at BBVA, “We are delighted to establish this partnership with BloombergNEF as a provider of research on global commodity markets and the technologies that drive the transition to a low-carbon economy.”

By investing in knowledge, we are not only supporting our professionals, but also empowering our customers to make informed decisions in an evolving energy landscape. We want to strongly integrate the customer’s point of view into everything we do, and I believe that an agreement like this will allow us to offer more qualified and informed services in the context of the energy transition,” he highlighted.

For Albert Cheung, executive vice president of BloombergNEF, “financial institutions have a key role to play in driving the energy transition forward by providing companies with the financing solutions they need to exploit the opportunities that lie ahead.”

“Investment in sustainable technologies will continue to grow, but the landscape will become increasingly complex as the geopolitical and macroeconomic environment evolves. We are excited to support BBVA in its work with clients, helping the group navigate opportunities and challenges,” he concluded.
