The proposal was made at a meeting held on Thursday (11), with the aim of covering three municipalities: Sebastião Laranjeiras, Palmas de Monte Alto and Iuiú.

The idea is that the renewable energy generation hub will use photovoltaic technology, with battery storage for the production of green hydrogen, aimed at the manufacture of sustainable fertilizers.

Angelo Almeida, Secretary of Economic Development, states that “Bahia has clean, abundant, safe and cheap energy and this makes the state attract renewable investments. We have a unique opportunity to be part of the neo-industrialization process,” he said.

“Every time we are approached by businesspeople with a firm intention of investing here, we confirm that we are on the right path, following Governor Jerônimo’s project to boost the economy and income of the entire state, contributing to the well-being of the planet,” he highlighted.

According to Caio David, director of New Business at BMG Energia, the choice of Bahia comes from a historical context.

We are talking about more than 40 years of relationship between the BMG Group and the state, which demonstrates synergy and a favorable environment for business development. We came to seek institutional support and left with a proposal to sign a memorandum of understanding,” he highlighted.
