By Kleber Costa, Graduated in Administration with an emphasis on Foreign Trade; Caroline Contente, Graduated in Business Administration; Liza Manuela Ribeiro, Graduated in Accounting with Specialization in Tax Planning; Wilson Kerdy from Casal Filho, Electrical Engineer, Expert (electrical engineering, Photovoltaic Energy and Computer Network)

BYD, a global giant pioneering clean energy, is the world's largest battery manufacturer. Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), electric and plug-in vehicles. The brand is present on six continents, with vehicles operating in more than 300 cities in 70 countries.

There are more than 290 thousand employees distributed in 30 factories around the globe, of which more than 50 thousand engineers and researchers are focused on developing new patents.

In its mission to offer a zero-emissions ecosystem, BYD also ranks second as the largest supplier of components, batteries for cell phones, tablets and laptops in the world. This means there is a great possibility from you, your family or someone close to you use an electronic device with our technologies.

In terms of Brazil, the dreams began in 2015 with the inauguration of the electric bus chassis factory in Campinas/SP, where two years later, in 2017, the company opened new unit for the manufacture of photovoltaic modules.

The third plant began activities in 2020, in the North of Brazil, in the city of Manaus-Amazonas next to the Industrial Pole (PIM).

System with BYD batteries will power an environmental reserve in the Goiás cerrado

BYD established itself in the free zone of Manaus/AM, a city located in the Amazon rainforest known as the lungs of the world, a region that contains strict environmental control called the Green Seal to guarantee its Preservation. BYD guarantees the product quality, does not pose risks to the environment and does not pollute.

It is this project that we are part of, together with more than 700 employees distributed in the cities of Campinas, Curitiba, São Paulo, Salvador, Vitória and Rio de Janeiro. Considered the first battery factory with industrial 4.0 technology of its kind in Brazil.

With a production capacity of up to 18.000 battery modules per year, our Manaus factory is responsible for producing battery models for use in electric vehicles in models C15-12SYL and C15-14SYL.

The main component is Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) as positive electrode material, which has excellent safety, long cycle life, good temperature performance and high energy density. Furthermore, they are economical and non-polluting.

The LiFePO4 battery modules are intended to supply the industrial unit in Campinas (SP), where it produces 100% electric bus chassis. It is to meet this demand and make a world zero emissions that BYD is present in your and our daily lives.
