Companies in the solar sector take actions to keep the market warm

Manufacturer SMA Brasil also prepared a series of webinars for professionals in the solar energy market

Manufacturers and distributors are carrying out promotional campaigns and offering technical content for professionals in the solar energy sector. The objective is to keep the sector active and warm during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This movement guarantees the continuity of sales in the sector and reflects the responsibilities of the companies that move the market in the country. Furthermore, such actions positively impact the economy and the business environment and demonstrate commitment and care for employees.

Among the actions promoted by companies in the sector is the offering of technical knowledge through webinars, as is the case with inverter manufacturer Fronius do Brasil. “We invited companies from the solar sector to make presentations together with Fronius. This week K2 Base, BYD and Proauto will be with us.

Next week we invited Unicamp professor Marcelo Villalva, the team from the Training Center at the Federal University of Santa Catarina and staff from the Federal Institute”, explained Vitor Voni, solar energy specialist at Fronius do Brasil.

Voni also highlighted that the moment is opportune to remain qualified. “The message is that we are living in a moment of uncertainty, but that we cannot stop training, having experience and having content, because, even though sales are falling, our knowledge must always grow. When normality returns we will be at a more advanced stage”, he highlighted.

The manufacturer SMA Brasil also prepared a webinar series for solar energy market professionals. Technical content of the inverters manufactured by the company and answers to installers' main questions will be presented. One of the featured webinars will be about the launch of SMA Shadefix in Brazil, which is an update to the brand's inverter firmware that eliminates losses in situations where there is partial shading on the photovoltaic modules.

O Canal Solar will also hold webinars for professionals who wish to increase their knowledge of solar photovoltaic energy. In addition to the webinars, all qualification courses will be offered online, with full support from teachers and the sales team and with the handout delivered to the home. In addition, all participants will receive a certificate of participation. Check the schedule of upcoming courses.

In addition to offering promotional campaigns and technical content, companies in the sector are also contributing to the fight against Covid-19, such as the distributor Aldo. The company is making available at cost price solar energy equipment capable of guaranteeing the energy supply of essential devices such as respirators, fans and lighting, which will function as an emergency energy generator, mainly in field hospitals or in locations without a network.

In total, there are 10 models of OFF-GRID emergency survival generators/systems that will be sold at cost price, completely without profit. The objective is to assist the health sector in complying with measures that can minimize the impacts of Covid-19.

“It is a time when everyone’s commitment is very important, not only to reduce the spread of the virus, but to alleviate the consequences of the disease. If by cutting our profit margin we can facilitate access to a system that guarantees the functioning of a respirator, for example, and that can maintain the lives of hospitalized people, we will do it. After all, continuing with our activity, even without profit, is a way of sustaining our business, guaranteeing work for our employees, maintaining our social actions, even with the economic consequences expected after the crisis”, highlights Aldo Pereira Teixeira, CEO and president from Aldo.

The distributor Ecori also has a campaign. “We are offering free shipping to 95% of customers in Brazilian territory. As for our employees, we are keeping all employees and preparing ourselves to withstand the impact that the sector may suffer”, informed Leandro Martins, president of the company.

The structures company Spin will promote an action with a draw for its customers and rewards for its employees. “We are going to launch a promotion with our main distributors. The customer who buys Spin structures from these companies will compete for a drone and the salesperson who makes the sale will also win a gift”, announced Júlio Tavernaro, responsible for the company's commercial area.
