The Conference FAPESP (São Paulo State Research Support Foundation) 2024, which will address the future of fuels for mobility in Brazil, will take place on November 29 at FAPESP headquarters in São Paulo (SP).
The event seeks to examine the role of biofuels, which represent almost 40% of energy consumption in Brazilian transport and which contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
With new electrification technologies and global pressures to decarbonize the transport matrix, the event also discusses the decisions to continue using biofuels or electrify the fleet.
The conference will be moderated by Professor Ciro Antonio Rosolem, advisor to the Sustainable Agriculture Scientific Council and professor at UNESP, and speaker Luiz Augusto Horta Nogueira, specialist in energy systems.
In addition, there will be the presence of Horta Nogueira, professor at UNIFEI and researcher at NIPE/UNICAMP – who will evaluate the types of vehicle electrification and new technologies, seeking to identify the most promising paths for sustainable mobility in Brazil.
Nogueira will address the risks and opportunities for the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles, in addition to discussing the economic and environmental implications of different choices for the future of the sector.
The debate is part of the annual cycle of the FAPESP 2024 Conferences series, which promotes interdisciplinary discussions on science, technology and innovation and began in March.
