Representatives of the solar energy sector met again with CPFL directors, in Campinas (SP), on the afternoon of this Thursday (07), less than a week after the protest held at the company's headquarters.

On that occasion, more than a thousand integrators from the DG (distributed generation) segment held a peaceful demonstration against the rejection of photovoltaic projects due to flow inversion by the distributor.

At the end of that event, the concessionaire's directors met for the first time with representatives of the Solar Alliance – formed by INEL (National Institute of Clean Energy) and MSL (Free Solar Movement) – to hear the sector's demands.

The meeting took place on the same day that the event was held, and the executives agreed to receive, this afternoon, a dossier with a series of projects denied due to flow reversal to be analyzed again.

Since then, the requests have been collected by Aliança Solar through complaints made on the platform. Solar Advertising.

What was decided at today's meeting?

CPFL received the requests collected by Aliança Solar, signed a commitment with the entity and stated that it will analyze them again. In total, 365 rejections were submitted.

The concessionaire said that it will present to these integrators – within a period of up to ten days – the solutions that can be taken so that these projects can finally be approved.

The distributor also committed to doing the same with other orders that were registered on its platform before the rules of Resolution 1.098/2024 – published by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union), on July 31 of this year.

This resolution brought new definitions for the analysis of flow inversion in DG systems by distributors and defined three scenarios where flow inversion cannot be used as a justification for rejecting a project, namely:

  • Zero grid plants;
  • Installations that meet the free of charge criteria set out and whose distributed generation capacity is compatible with the consumption of the consumer unit during the generation period;
  • Distributed microgeneration that falls within the local self-consumption modality, with power equal to or less than 7,5 kW.

In other words, CPFL guaranteed that all projects rejected in its concession area before this determination came into effect will be analyzed again and will receive a technical response, with a solution to resolve the issue of flow inversion.

To do this, the integrator will only need to forward its clients' rejected projects to CPFL and wait for a response.

Other promises from CPFL

In addition to committing to the measures mentioned above, CPFL also agreed to create a specific communication channel with integrators, focused exclusively on issues related to rejections due to flow inversion.

The concessionaire also accepted the proposal from Aliança Solar to receive, in the coming days, a memorandum with other suggestions from the solar sector, including the requirement that all rejections due to flow inversion contain the signature of a technical manager from the concessionaire itself.

In addition, the distributor announced that it will hold a live broadcast open to the public to answer any questions about the topic of flow reversal with representatives from Aliança Solar. The date and time of this broadcast are yet to be defined.
