Our first four months of 2025, FIFA (International Football Federation) will invest $4M monthly – the equivalent of around R$21 million – in installation of a solar power plant No. Sapiens Park, an important hub for technology companies em Florianópolis (SC).

O project is part of environmental commitments assumed by FIFA during the 2014 World Cup, held in Brazil. A new plant will be responsible for generating 1 MW and will be built by the Chinese multinational Yingli.

O The location chosen for the installation is a 400 meter long boardwalk between the historic buildings of Sapiens Parque and the JBS Biotech Innovation Center – one of the largest cultured protein research centers in the world that is scheduled to open later this year.

A solar plant installation will not only serve as a open-air laboratory for research, but also will meet the energy demand of the entire park.

O project would initially be installed in Rio de Janeiro, but during the bidding process the opportunity was passed to Sapiens Parque, in the North of Santa Catarina Island.
