After Atlético Mineiro betting on a sustainable project and building a solar plant to supply the club's structures, it's time for another football team to invest in photovoltaic energy.
ACBF (Carlos Barbosa Futsal Association) announced that it installed, at the Sérgio Luiz Guerra Municipal Events Center, during the players' vacation period, 201 solar panels. According to the club, the installation will provide savings of around 95% per month on electricity bills.
“Per year, we will save R$60 thousand. If you compare in the first month we will have a reduction and we will already pay the amount we invested in the plates. The cost-benefit is very good”, said Fabiano Käfer, president of ACBF.
According to Douglas Ferrari, partner at Dolari, the company responsible for installing the equipment on the gym's roof, the 335Wp modules form the letters of ACBF and were built in three days.
“The gym has LED lighting. However, every day the lights are turned on from 8 am until 22 pm due to the training of the ACBF futsal teams and schools. Furthermore, there are showers in the changing rooms that increase consumption. That is why the installation of photovoltaic panels has become so important for the club from a sustainable and economic point of view”, highlighted Käfer.
“We are making the building more sustainable and also, of course, preserving the environment. In the future we will think about the issue of using rainwater. It’s the next step we can take on the issue of sustainability,” he concluded.
