The headquarters of TV Globo in São Paulo (SP), located in the South Zone, inaugurated a system of carport, covered with solar panels that generate energy for its operations. The plant has a power of 520 kWp and has the capacity to supply the equivalent of 344 homes, contributing to the reduction of the station's electricity consumption.
The space has 180 spaces and is equipped with four charging stations for electric vehicles, which will be powered directly by solar energy generated on site. The chargers were provided by Siemens, a partner of Brasol, the company responsible for the energy transition project implemented at the station.
The carport is part of Globo's sustainability agenda, which aims to adopt practices aligned with ODS (Sustainable Development Goals) of the UN (United Nations). According to the broadcaster, the objectives included include access to clean and affordable energy (SDG 7), the promotion of sustainable cities (SDG 11) and the efficient use of natural resources (SDG 12).
