The Clinical Hospital of the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (HC-UFTM), in Uberaba, will save approximately R$300 per year with the installation of a photovoltaic solar plant with a total power of 510 kW, expected to generate 51.000 kWh/month .
The work is being carried out by PROBIOMAS and should be completed by the end of July. In total, 1398 365W modules from DAH Solar, 11 SolarEdge inverters (2 model SE75K and 9 model SE27.6K) and P730 Optimizers will be installed.
“The use of SolarEdge was chosen due to the greater security of the project in the hospital area, considering that the installation has a complex layout and is subject to shadows in order to make the most of the space”, explained Renato Galdino, electrical engineer responsible for the work.
According to Galdino, the installation of the plant is mainly carried out on the hospital unit's roof and will meet 15% of the customer's energy consumption. The estimated payback of the system will be six years.
The investment was made with resources from the National Program for the Restructuring of Federal University Hospitals (Rehuf), managed by Ebserh (Brazilian Hospital Services Company).
The project began after the tender for the implementation of the photovoltaic solar plant was held in 2019. The work began in February this year. “This is one of several actions that Hospital de Clínicas is carrying out, with the aim of reducing operational costs, in order to meet the principle of efficiency in public administration”, stated Luiz Humberto Camilo, head of the Hospital Logistics and Infrastructure Division.
