Nike's main logistics center in Brazil is producing 80% of its own energy demand. In operation since the first quarter of this year, the photovoltaic plant at the company's CD (distribution center), located in Louveira (SP), has a power of 785 kW and generates, on average, 100 thousand kWh per month. It is the greatest potential in a logistics enterprise in the country.

The Louveira CD is Nike's logistics hub in Brazil, responsible for supplying retailers and own stores throughout the country. The center has 26.700 m² of built area, with more than 50 pallet positions for separating break-bulk loads.

The technical proposal was prepared by DHL Supply Chain, a company specializing in storage and distribution, in partnership with GLP, owner of the property. The goal was to meet Nike's sustainable emissions reduction goals.

Initiatives such as selective waste collection, water reuse and the use of electric cars to distribute products in Greater São Paulo are also adopted at the distribution center – there is even a charging point at the CD.

Both organizations aim to bring their carbon footprints to zero in the coming years. The solar energy that will be used will avoid the emission of around 630 tons of polluting gases per year when storing and moving products.
