HDT New Charge and Livoltek have reached an agreement to launch a joint venture focused on the Brazilian market for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The new operation will offer a charger rental model that allows CPOs (Charge Point Operators) to expand their charging networks without the need to invest in purchasing the equipment.
The initiative combines HDT's commercial and project structuring expertise with the technology and industrial capacity of Livoltek, a manufacturer of energy solutions and chargers for electric vehicles and part of the Hexing Group.
The companies' proposal aims to reduce one of the main barriers to expanding charging infrastructure: the need to concentrate capital on acquiring assets.
In the new model, the joint venture retains ownership of the chargers, while the operator pays a monthly fee for the use of the equipment.
In this way, CPOs can direct their resources toward deploying new points, operating, and expanding the network.
“Electromobility in Brazil has ceased to be a promise and has become an infrastructure project. Those who operate in this market need reliable, available equipment and a financial model that allows for rapid growth. This is exactly the combination we want to bring to the market,” says Vinicio Carrara, Director of Electric Mobility at Livoltek.
Industrial capacity and technology to support expansion.
The chargers used by the joint venture are supplied and guaranteed by Livoltek, which maintains industrial operations in Brazil and produces chargers for electric vehicles at its factory in Manaus (AM).
The unit, inaugurated in 2024, received investments of approximately R$ 70 million and is part of the Hexing Group's strategy to expand its industrial and technological presence in the Brazilian market.
The equipment incorporates Huawei power modules, combining Livoltek's manufacturing and engineering capabilities with components developed by one of the global leaders in power electronics.
Equipment availability is a critical factor for charging infrastructure operators.
In addition to affecting the user experience, periods of unavailability can compromise the use of the point of sale and, consequently, its ability to generate revenue.
“In a charging operation, reliability and availability are fundamental. The combination of equipment supplied by Livoltek and high-quality Huawei power components contributes to building a robust infrastructure prepared for long-term operations,” comments Wilson Ribeiro, Head of Services and Operations at HDT NEW CHARGE.
Leasing reduces barriers to entry for CPOs
Leasing the equipment creates an alternative to the traditional model of purchasing chargers and allows operators to expand their networks with less need for initial investment in assets.
The solution is designed for legal entities interested in operating charging infrastructure and includes chargers in different power ranges, sized according to the needs of each project.
In addition to equipment rental, the contract includes operation management software, allowing the CPO to centralize the physical infrastructure and tools needed to manage the charging points in a single solution.
For CPOs in the process of expansion, the model also offers greater flexibility for opening new charging points and evaluating new locations, allowing them to focus resources on operations, user experience, and network growth.
“The goal is to bring to electric mobility a model capable of combining quality, technology, and financial efficiency. The partnership between HDT New Charge and Livoltek brings together complementary skills to facilitate the expansion of charging infrastructure and allow operators to grow in a more agile and sustainable way,” says Leandro Beato, Head of the joint venture.
An integrated solution for charging infrastructure.
In addition to equipment rental, the joint venture will offer an integrated solution for the deployment and operation of charging infrastructure, bringing together chargers, installation, maintenance, and an operations management platform with monitoring, pricing, and reconciliation capabilities for charging transactions.
The proposal allows the CPO to concentrate the various steps required to put new charging points into operation into a single solution, reducing the need to individually structure and manage multiple suppliers.
With this, the joint venture aims to go beyond supplying hardware and act as a partner to operators in expanding their networks, connecting technology, infrastructure, services, and operational management.
“Electric mobility demands an increasingly robust, available, and scalable infrastructure. Our proposal is to help operators grow faster and more efficiently, offering not only the equipment, but an integrated solution and a business model that facilitates network expansion,” concludes Beato.
