A ANEEL The Brazilian National Electric Energy Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) has authorized the start of operational testing of the power plants at the Fótos de São George solar complex, located in the municipality of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. Generating units 1 through 72, totaling 234,6 MW of installed capacity, have been cleared for operation.

The power plants are part of the Brilhante complex, a project that will have a total capacity of 491 MW when fully completed.

The agency also authorized the commissioning of units 8 and 9 of the Ventos de São Rafael 11 wind farm complex, located between the municipalities of Coronel Ezequiel, Campo Redondo and Picuí, in Rio Grande do Norte. The two units together have an installed capacity of 9 MW.

Previously, Aneel had already authorized testing of units 12 to 14 of the same complex, totaling 13,5 MW.

Both projects belong to Casa dos Ventos. The orders were published this Friday (15) in the Official Gazette of the Union.
