Huasun Energy surpassed 10 GW in HJT (heterojunction) product shipments in December 2024. According to Jimmy Xu, the company's CEO, reaching this milestone is a testament to the company's strategic vision and technological excellence.

“We are confident of rapidly reaching the next 10 GW milestone by harnessing the power of heterojunction to accelerate PV’s journey to becoming the mainstream energy source,” he said.

Founded in 2020, Huasun has established itself with HJT technology, achieving breakthroughs in microcrystalline cells, HBC, copper busbar and perovskite tandem solar cells.

With over 300 registered patents, the manufacturer has highlighted that it aims to push the boundaries of photovoltaic efficiency and industrial advancement. The company’s integrated R&D and manufacturing approach has enabled an average mass production conversion efficiency of over 26% for HJT cells.

According to Huasun, manufacturing capabilities were key to this achievement. On December 31, 2024, the company’s 20 GW HJT (Phase 1) monocrystalline silicon fab in Yinchuan, China, produced its first silicon rod, marking the full integration of the heterojunction supply chain – from silicon ingot and wafer to cell and module.

With the support of five production bases in Xuancheng, Dali, Hefei, Wuxi and Yinchuan, the manufacturer is advancing the large-scale application of heterojunction technology.

Last year, Huasun secured more than 10 GW in bids from major Chinese state-owned enterprises including China Huaneng, China Green Development and PowerChina. The company’s products now power PV projects in more than 60 countries in Europe, Asia and beyond, promoting the global transition to a low-carbon future.
