Ingeteam is the first company to receive validation from the ONS (National Electric System Operator) for a mathematical model of photovoltaic plants.

Model validation is crucial for the reliability and efficiency of photovoltaic generation, as it ensures that plants operate safely and in an integrated manner with the electrical grid, allowing accurate simulations in different scenarios.

The benefits of this approval include regulatory compliance, operational safety, optimization of energy generation and greater credibility for investments.

On the other hand, the absence of this validation may result in operational restrictions, disconnection risks, generation uncertainties and financial losses.

Below is the excerpt published in the RAP-ONS Disturbance Analysis Report 0012/2023

“It is also worth noting that the aforementioned database, in its revision 1, from January 2025, incorporated the first mathematical model of photovoltaic plants originating from the validation process originated through the RAP-ONS Disturbance Analysis Report 0012/2023.

This mathematical model represents all of Ingeteam's currently deployed inverters, more specifically the INGECON SUN series B and C platforms, a family of inverters and PPCs that comprise 21% of the installed photovoltaic generation capacity in the short term.

In total, 2098 MW, that is, 84,6% of the power of the parks that have the equipment, were associated with the validated and parameterized model in accordance with the data sent to the ONS by the Operating Agents.”
