O The smarter E Europe, with its four solo exhibitions – Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power Europe – expects to receive more than 115 thousand visitors from all over the world at the event until Friday (21).

The fair offers participants the opportunity to discover the latest trends, technologies and business models, and to interact with large players of the photovoltaic, energy storage and electric mobility industries.

O Canal Solar was present at first day of the exhibition, bringing news to the Brazilian market. And today, on the second day of the fair, continue to visit the Intersolar Europe stands.

All-black and colored modules

A Dah Solar presented the 460 W all-black full-screen photovoltaic modules with an efficiency of 22.64%. The equipment does not have edges – which prevents the accumulation of dirt and increases energy generation.

In addition, they displayed 380-430 W colored panels – focused on BIPV and can be developed with several different colors. According to Philip Santos, LATAM Sales Director at DAH Solar, these modules will be available on the Brazilian market from August.

Another product emphasized by the manufacturer was the SolarUnit system – integrated module and microinverter, optimizing installation time, better performance and microinverter with one of the highest efficiencies on the market (97,5%).

Garden, Snow and Fence PV

A Sunova Solar was present at the fair with several new features for the European market. Among the highlights are the garden module (Garden PV), which is mobile, has its own structure and capacity of up to 800 W, and can be installed by the owner himself.

Another highlight is the snow module (Snow PV), which is bifacial and has a specific structure to support snow. Additionally, Sunova introduced the Fence PV module, a panel designed for use as a fence.

World record efficiency of 30,1%

A LONGi announced a new world efficiency record of 30,1% for its commercial-grade silicon-perovskite tandem solar cell with M6 wafer size, during Intersolar Europe 2024. The cell was certified by Fraunhofer ISE (Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy) .

The announcement comes less than a week after LONGi revealed a record 34,6% efficiency at SNEC EXPO 2024 in Shanghai, surpassing the previous record of 28,6% on M4 wafers. He Bo, Director of R&D at LONGi Central R&D Institute, highlighted that this advancement not only pushes the efficiency limits of tandem cells, but also demonstrates the commercial viability of the technology.

Tandem perovskite modules

The European Soli Tek, a company based in Lithuania, displays its new perovskite tandem module, the result of a partnership with Oxford PV. The company, one of the last photovoltaic energy manufacturers on the continent, says that the panel will be available at the end of the year and that it will exceed 24% efficiency.

JA Solar launches storage solutions

In relation to the battery market, the JA Solar was present at the event and announced something new for the sector: it is expanding its equipment portfolio with energy storage solutions.

According to the company, the products will also be on display in Brazil at The smarter E South America – which will be held at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo between August 27th and 29th. The manufacturer also presented its portfolio of photovoltaic modules to fair participants.

String inverters based on proprietary platforms

A manufacturer SMA brought its latest launch, string inverters based on its own platforms in all segments. O Sunny Central Flex is the company's highlight and offers flexibility in the combination of battery inverters, photovoltaic inverters and DC elements for electrolyzers, reaching up to 7,5 MW of nominal power when used entirely for photovoltaic energy.

The solution combines a DC-DC converter, an inverter, a medium voltage transformer and a circuit breaker in a single 40-foot container. According to SMA, the equipment allows DC coupling of battery storage systems, improves efficiency and reduces costs.

Furthermore, it is one of the first large-scale central inverter platforms for large-scale solar projects to use silicon carbide technology and improves heat management and achieves DC-DC conversion efficiency of up to 99,5%.

A manufacturer SMA came to be awarded at The smarter E AWARD 2024, in the Photovoltaic Energy categoryWith the Sunny Central FLEX.

New tracker for panel rotation

A Axial launched a SlopeSync dual-line tracker. This technology allows each section of the torque tube to have a different inclination or orientation, ensuring the continuous rotation and alignment of the photovoltaic modules.

Photovoltaic module cleaner

A Italian company BP Metalmeccanica highlighted that the company's solar cleaners are equipped with 5-meter-high brushes – designed to efficiently clean photovoltaic modules, regardless of whether they are wet or dry.

These devices include a telescopic arm that supports brushes up to 7,4 meters long, demonstrating a robust solution for advanced maintenance of photovoltaic systems.

AI-Enhanced Battery System

A Omnispower Europe, in partnership with Inion Software and EIKO POWER, presented a new BESS at Intersolar Europe. The system is designed to operate efficiently in extreme climates.

The product, which has already been successfully tested in Padua, Italy, has integration with artificial intelligence in its energy management system, developed by Inion Software.

'Zero degradation' BESS

The manufacturer CATL detailed more about Tener BESS during a company workshop at Intersolar Europe. During the talk, two significant benefits of BESS were highlighted.

The first was a density of 6,25 MWh of energy storage capacity per 20-foot container. The second benefit is that the battery cells will not degrade during the first five years of operation.

Desay Battery, Tecloman and Gamesa Electric present new solutions

A Desay Battery, a global provider of energy storage solutions, presented new solutions during the show, including proprietary battery cells, commercial and industrial storage solutions, residential energy storage systems and products for data centers with UPS (uninterruptible power supply), along with its clean energy solutions.

Already Tecloman held lectures to present energy storage technology solutions. Additionally, the company also showcased its new mobile energy storage system, Cubox.

Equipped with high-density lithium-ion batteries and high-efficiency inverter systems, the solution can be integrated with generators to solve low-load issues and is ideal for noise-sensitive environments.

Finally, the Gamesa Electric presented the Prometeus PCS-E hybrid battery inverter at the event. The device is based on the Prometeus central inverter, and operates at 1.500 V for utility-scale solar power.

Tesla's Powerwall 3 launches with integrated hybrid inverter

A Tesla is present at Intersolar Europe and showed off its new release, the Powerwall 3. According to the company, the equipment is a significant evolution in relation to Powerwall 2, which had been on the market for about ten years.

The new version stands out for incorporating a hybrid inverter internally, eliminating the need for an external device, as in the previous version.

Ao Canal Solar, the company reported that the Powerwall 3 has a capacity of 13,5 kWh and a power of up to 11,04 kW, initially being offered in single-phase version. The company is already working on developing a three-phase version. The integrated inverter has three MPPTs, making the system ideal for residential applications. The equipment weighs 130 kg.

Although there are still no concrete plans for the distribution of Powerwall 3 in Brazil, the company maintains interest in the Brazilian market. Considering Elon Musk's appreciation for the country, it is possible that the product will be launched in Brazil in 2025.
