Intersolar Mexico 2022: energy efficiency in the water sector

In parallel to the solar energy fair, Aqua Tech and Expo Verde take place

With information from Carlos Trotta

Intersolar Mexico 2022 began last Wednesday (6) bringing together several players from the photovoltaic sector, many already known by our sector in Brazil and others that are being presented at this great event in Mexico.

The event will take place at the CItibanamex Convention Center, an extremely modern venue prepared to host major events here in Mexico City. In parallel to Intersolar, two other events will complete the schedule of events focused on renewable energy: Aquatech Mexico and The Green Expo.

Aquatech Mexico

The first event focuses on the grey water footprint, the circular economy in the water sector, the human right to water, energy efficiency actions in the water sector and smart water.

Today, water is a major challenge in Mexico. The Mexico Water Plan predicts that by 2030 91 billion cubic meters of water will be needed when only 68 billion cubic meters are available.

In addition to being a major challenge, only 47% of wastewater is treated and reused with outdated infrastructure that causes leaks and pollution risks.

The water committee of Mexico's Chamber of Deputies approved the proposal in November 2018 to increase the 2019 budget to 52,2 billion ($2,59 billion), a 95% increase over the previous year.

Green Expo

The Green Expo is the leading exhibition and congress where solutions and new technologies are presented by green and sustainable companies to the public and private sectors, which are looking for updated products and services, thus creating a sustainable and profitable industry.

The technology and solutions presented by environmental, renewable energy, water and green housing companies are generating economic benefits and are setting the standards for the future in Mexico.

On the first day there was an opening ceremony with the participation of all organizing entities and in all speeches the importance of the solar sector was highlighted so that the world can become increasingly sustainable.

In all speeches it was highlighted that this sector has a lot to contribute to the energy crisis that affects the entire world, showing the strength that the photovoltaic market has in all countries and how much it can grow in the coming years.

For those who participated in Intersolar South America 2022 in São Paulo (SP), on the 23rd to 25th of August this year, the first day of Intersolar México 2022 could certainly be strange, with a very different audience in terms of the number of the exhibition in Brazil, but for on the other hand, a public eager to learn more about the sector, which has great growth potential in the Mexican country.

The pavilion that concentrates the three events together was attended by installers, epcists, as well as companies from other sectors that aim to enter this sector, seeking information about products and technology.

As for the exhibitors, in addition to many already known, it was possible to see many entities and associations with a focus on the environment participating as exhibitors, showing that the solar sector is increasingly focused on taking care of the environment.

According to reports from participants, the current situation of the Mexican government does not prioritize investments in the renewable energy sector, but there is a consensus that regardless of the government, this area has everything to grow in the coming years.

Regarding inverter technologies, the Mexican public is well aware of on-grid systems, but, as seen in other countries, they seek to understand more about hybrid systems with storage.

About Intersolar

Intersolar México makes its debut in 2019 as the industry's leading source for the biggest technology trends and best B2B contacts in the emerging Mexican solar market. The event is organized by Solar Promotion International GmbH, Pforzheim and Freiburg Management and Marketing International GmbH (FMMI) and Tarsus México.

We will bring more information each day of the event so that you can learn a little more about the solar energy market in Mexico.
