O Intersolar Summit South, scheduled for the 29th and 30th of October this year at FIERGS Events Center, in Porto Alegre (RS), was postponed to October 28th and 29th, 2025.
The organizers Aranda Events & Congresses, together with the co-organizers Solar Promotion International e Freiburg Management and Marketing International made the decision due to the tragic impact of recent flooding which, in addition to causing sad and painful losses, will make it impossible to hold the event in 2024.
“With great regret, we made this decision due to the impacts caused by the tragic recent floods which, in addition to all the sad and painful losses, make it impossible to hold our event in Porto Alegre (RS), at the FIERGS Events Center, as planned” , says the press release.
According to the organization, the pavilion where the Summit would be held was submerged for 45 days, which caused substantial damage to all facilities. Although there is no forecast for the end of the site's restoration works, it is estimated that they will not be completed in time to make the event viable.
“Other important issues that led us to the decision to postpone were the damage to the city's service infrastructure, such as public transport, hotel network, airport and road services for passengers and cargo”, continues the statement.
“Despite all the efforts of the public authorities and the people of Rio Grande do Sul to restore normality, there is still no prospect of full operation by the date of the event. Therefore, at this moment, we prefer to value the safety and well-being of congress participants, visitors and exhibitors, since the current situation does not guarantee us the minimum conditions for holding the event successfully”, concludes the note.
