A Bold Energy distributor, together with Sofa Solar, inaugurated, at the end of September, in Irati (SC), a plant de 452 kWp of installed power. In total, we used four inverters da Sofa de 75 kW (380 V) and 800 bifacial panels 540 W JA Solar.

“This business model, popularly known as 'investment plant', has been gaining strength in regions where cooperatives have a high demand for energy due to the origin of their business and are constantly looking for more viable, sustainable and low environmental impact energy alternatives to the rural setting”, commented José Vitor Salm, director of Bold.

The executive highlighted that, once potential consumers have been identified, photovoltaic systems in DG (distributed generation), such as Irati, will be made possible by investors who will offer a more attractive energy value to members of a cooperative.

“In this way, cooperative members can enjoy an energy tariff between 8% and 20% lower than the local energy concessionaire, depending on the tariff flag in force”, reported Salm.

Currently, this business model is made possible by companies that manage and sell energy, such as Cotesa. The company is responsible for all contractual aspects between investors and members and, in addition, manages the purchase and sale of electricity generated in the “investment plants”.

More Details

The plant belongs to the Borsoi family, owners of MP Logg Expresso, which operates in the transport and logistics sector, including photovoltaic equipment. “We noticed the significant increase in solar equipment logistics services in recent years and decided to better understand the business opportunities in the sector,” he said. Eduardo Borsoi, CEO of the company.

“The 'investment plant' model was presented to the investor by the integrator Solarcred e energytech, in which the value of the contribution was budgeted at R$ 1,7 million, with an estimated return of R$ 25 thousand net monthly”, he emphasized.

Second Odair de Marco, director of Solarcred, around 60 thousand kWh will be generated per month, which will serve around 250 members in the state of Santa Catarina. “These consumers will be able to save on monthly energy costs without making any investment.”

According to a Eduardo Fróes, director of Sofar Solar in Brazil, “the customer chose Sofar due to the 10-year warranty on inverters, after-sales located in Brazil since 2018 and understanding that the brand has more than 100 thousand inverters installed and operating in the southern region of the country.”

About Sofar

Sofar has a portfolio that includes inverters from 1 kW to 255 kW, hybrid inverters from 3 kW to 20 kW, battery storage systems and smart energy power management solutions for residential, commercial and industrial use, as well as for power plants large-scale centralized.

Present in Brazil since 2017, it has more than 200 thousand units sold, reaching 3rd place in Greener's ranking for single-phase inverters in 2021.

In 2022, annual production capacity reached 10 GW for photovoltaic and storage inverters and 1 GWh for batteries. As of last year, Sofar has shipped more than 18 GW of inverters to more than 100 countries and regions around the world.
