A Kstar announced the launch of floating power plant 550 MW photovoltaic plant in Wenzhou, China, which is equipped with its GSM3125C-MV35 inverter solution. The project system started to operate connected to the network.

In total, the system will generate 650 GWh of clean energy for the energy grid. Thus, the project will annually reduce around 648 thousand tons of CO2 that would be emitted into the atmosphere.

The Taihan project covers an area of approximately 4.933 square kilometers on the beach in a closed area of Zhejiang province in eastern China. It is one of the largest photovoltaic projects that combine floating solar energy with aquaculture.

The floating photovoltaic plant is located in a challenging region for implementing a solar plant, as it has a subtropical maritime monsoon climate, with a summer of high temperatures and rainfall. Typhoons are frequent and are combined with conditions of high salt and humidity.

The GSM3125C-MV inverter-based solution was chosen to ensure the long-term operational stability of the plant, as it has a high level of anti-corrosion protection and reliable performance. It also includes an energy storage interface, which will allow for future system upgrades.
